In 2015, we engaged Lyle Linschied, The Cadd Station, to design a single-story, mountain style home on Whychus Creek Canyon. The goal was an open format home with large windows to bring the Three Sisters and Broken Top mountains into our world. The interior included open beam ceilings, trowel finished drywall, a stone fireplace, wood floors, and granite surfaces. The resulting design was perfect! Both inside and out, the structure, design and finishes allowed the home to blend into the natural rim rock surroundings.
The interaction with Lyle, both by phone and email, was always positive. Our changes were quickly reflected in design alterations. In 2017, we again engaged Lyle to design a shop to match the exterior facade and roof structure of the house. Lyle quickly developed this plan and shepherded the design through the county permitting process.
A house design should reflect the desired look and feel for the homeowner. However, the designer has the experience and creativity to turn the homeowner’s wishes into a workable design that can actually be constructed. Lyle brings the needed experience and creativity to the relationship than homeowners can trust and rely upon.
